When Will Humanoid Robots Be Affordable?

Sooner than most people think — with an asterisk. Unitree's smaller models start around the price of a family car, roughly $16,000, and Chinese competition is pushing prices down fast. The asterisk: an affordable robot is not yet a useful home robot. Today's machines excel at structured factory tasks; folding your laundry in an unpredictable living room is still the hard frontier. Realistic expectation: capable industrial humanoids everywhere by the late 2020s, genuinely useful household ones early next decade.
